Dmitry Ligay was born in 1986, in Tashkent. In 2007, he graduated from Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Design. The year before his graduation, Dmitry started working as a commercial illustrator teaming up with reputed agencies, such as Bang! Bang! Studio (Moscow) and Debut Art (London). This work has defined his professional path for the next 14 years, and resulted in a fruitful collaboration with a number of advertising agencies, magazines, private, and social projects from all over the world. The illustration work has become an important step in the process of exploring and building his artistic style, its fundamental principles and philosophy. Since 2020, he has been working as an independent artist creating original works. 

   As an artist, Dmitry Ligay works with the images of human consciousness and subconsciousness, exploring their metaphysics and environmental influences. Diving into the issues of the fabric our environment - its hold, its aggression, its utopianism-he explores not the environmental problems per se, but to a greater extent the ecology of consciousness, the hygiene of the soul. The artist shares his view of the state and place of an individual in the age of overconsumption. And above all, the consumption of an enormous amount of information, which for the most part turns out to be notning more than junk filling up the mind. These information tides have become a part of our everyday life, a new state of affairs to which we must constantly adapt, thereby making a new round in our evolution. The artist explores these issues in different contexts, reflecting them through his own perception, his philosophy, fears, and complexes.
